After a disheartening game against Besta 7, the Octane Infinity had to play the second game of their double-header against the Rucky Stars last Monday, June 23, 2008, at The Courts in Beaverton, OR. The Octane Infinity was looking forward to the match up, hoping to redeem themselves from the previous game.
The first half proved to be a close game, ending with the Rucky Stars leading by three points at the half. But the start of the second half was a different story. The Octane Infinity piled on a lead as high as 15.
During the last three minutes of the game, the Rucky Stars rallied back from a 10 point deficit and tied the game with less than a minute to go. With time winding down, the Rucky Stars were forced to foul the Octane Infinity, who had their best free shooting squad on the floor. Mike R. and Adam Crane sealed the victory with clutch free throws, giving the Octane Infinity one of their most dramatic victories, 57-55.
“Our first win!” exclaimed Edwin Tanedo. “Hard fought and well played, we all had contributions from everyone and thanks to Mr. Clutch Adam and Sucker MC Mike for making free throws!”
Chris Turman led the Octane Infinity with 18 points, eight rebounds, and 3 blocks. Mike R. contributed 16 points and Adam Crane added 10 points and three steals.
